10 Ways to Get Creative with Your Website Blog

Did you know that there are over 152 million blogs on the internet, all serving information to the public and marketing their services?

To have your blog as the number one source for information in your industry, you’ve got to stop writing general content and start cultivating unique content. Content that is fresh, helpful and that cannot be found on other websites.

Difficult to do? Not really.  Here are 10 ways you can get creative with your blogging:

1. Challenge a Popular Thought

Most blogs go with the general view, but if you want to make your blog stand out, challenge certain popular perspectives and opinions in your industry.

You can also take it a step further by arguing both viewpoints and letting the reader make an opinion for himself.

2. Introduce Different Forms of Content

Mixing up various forms of content can reignite interest in your blog. Instead of writing a lengthy blog every week, change it up with a podcast, video, tutorial or Q&A.

3. Embrace Story-telling

Is there an interesting story you have read recently? Share it on your blog and invite your readers to comment on how they feel about the topic. You can also share your own personal stories to connect with your audience. Everybody loves a good story!

4. Write Success Stories

Who says success stories and case studies don’t belong in a blog?

The best way to establish rapport is to post success stories and case studies. Prospects will be more likely to purchase your product if they see success stories from other people who have used your product.

It’s a form of social selling and marketing. People make purchasing decisions based on what other people say about the product. If you’ve got enough people rooting for your product, you may just get more sales referrals.

Flashback to a different period in your industry and compare it to how things work now. What were consumers buying? Who were the big shots in the industry? How has this changed today? These are some of the questions you can answer in your blog post.

Add captivating images throughout the post to make it even more interesting.

8. Find Relevant Quotes

Gather relevant quotes in your industry that will inspire your readers. Quotes that do well:

  • Inspirational
  • Historic
  • Relevant to your niche
  • Success related

You can also add a short bio of the author so that readers know a little bit more about the author of each quote.

People love infographics as it’s a quick way to get the information that they need without having to read lengthy content. Infographics are also nice for people to print out and paste on their walls as a reminder. Create a fun but informative infographic that helps your readers solve their problems quickly.

10. Review a Conference or Networking Event

Have you attended a conference or a networking event lately? Tell your readers about the event through a blog post. Make sure to add images, videos and quotes. You can also make it more interesting by interviewing a few attendees and adding the interviews to your blog post.
